Administration & Warehouse Officer — Smenco Pty Ltd | Ottoway, Adelaide SA
About the role
This is a self-managed, hands-on position at Smenco's South Australian base in Ottoway. You'll be the operational backbone of the SA office — keeping administration and warehouse functions running smoothly day-to-day, largely on your own initiative.
Your immediate team is a technical salesperson who spends most of his time in front of customers, and a State Manager based remotely in Perth. That means you'll need to be someone who takes ownership, manages their own workload, and doesn't need close supervision to get things done.
The split is roughly 70% administration / 30% warehouse.
What you'll be doing
- Processing orders, service bookings and customer enquiries using our ERP system
- Booking and coordinating freight with transport companies
- Receiving, organising and dispatching stock — pick, pack and ship accurately and on time
- Maintaining inventory records and keeping the system up to date
- Serving as the first point of contact for the SA office when the salesperson is out with customers
- Supporting the broader SA sales and service operation as needed
What we’re looking for
We're after someone who already understands how industrial, vehicle or trade businesses operate. A background in a vehicle service centre, equipment dealership, parts department or similar industrial environment is highly regarded — you'll hit the ground running.
You don't need to come from a pure warehousing background. We care about your ability to manage yourself and your familiarity with how this type of industry works.
You will need:
- Experience in an administration or operations role within industrial, vehicle, mining or trade sectors
- Confidence working with ERP or business management software
- Experience booking and managing freight (or a willingness to learn quickly)
- A current forklift licence — or the willingness to obtain one immediately (we will put you through it)
- A current driver’s licence
- Ability to lift up to 20 kg
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your own workload without close supervision

Salary
$65,000 – $80,000 + superannuation, depending on experience.
