About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Design Coordinator (Electrical Engineer) to support the successful delivery of major electrical infrastructure, data centre, industrial, and commercial construction projects.

Working closely with project managers, design consultants, construction teams, subcontractors, and clients, you will coordinate electrical design activities, ensure technical compliance, and maintain alignment between design intent and project delivery.

  • Ensure designs comply with project requirements, client expectations, legislation, and Australian Standards.
  • Facilitate design coordination between electrical systems and other project disciplines.
  • Provide technical support throughout design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
  • Resolve technical issues, design conflicts, and constructability challenges.
  • Manage RFIs, design changes, technical queries, and engineering documentation.
  • Support project planning by identifying design risks, dependencies, and critical interfaces.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Support quality assurance processes and maintain accurate design records and documentation.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 3-8 years' experience in electrical design, project engineering, design coordination, or design management.
  • Experience within construction, infrastructure, industrial, building services, or EPC project environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, construction methodologies, and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and engineering document management systems.
  • Highly Desirable
  • Exposure to BIM coordination and digital engineering environments.
  • Experience working for electrical contractors or project delivery organisations.
  • Understanding of commissioning and project handover processes.
  • Work on large-scale and technically challenging projects.
  • Be part of a growing and collaborative team environment.
  • Gain exposure to industry-leading construction and infrastructure projects.
