About the opportunity

Our client, a leading university in Melbourne's south-east, is seeking a Student Finance Adviser to join the team on a contract through to June 2027.

The role

  • Support student and sponsor invoicing across the university's Australian and international campuses
  • Build positive relationships with sponsor organisations and colleagues across the university
  • Help sponsors transition to a new platform in 2027
  • Work with large volumes of data to maintain accuracy and contribute to reporting
  • Provide helpful responses to enquiries from students, staff and external stakeholders
  • Share ideas to improve processes as new systems and ways of working are introduced

About you

This role suits someone who enjoys both the numbers and the people. You will bring:

  • Experience in accounts receivable, credit control, collections or a similar finance administration role
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with confidence negotiating and engaging stakeholders
  • Solid spreadsheet skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, and comfort working with large data sets
  • A proactive, positive approach and the ability to adapt quickly to new processes
  • Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
  • The resilience to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment

Experience with student management systems, the higher education sector, Flywire, Google Suite or AI tools for data analysis is highly regarded but not essential. This is not a pure data entry role; you will be part of a highly collaborative team.

What's on offer

  • Contract through to June 2027, aligned to the project rollout
  • Competitive hourly rate plus superannuation
  • Full-time hours preferred, with flexibility considered for the right person, including four-day weeks
  • Hybrid work (currently three days in the office, two from home) following an initial month on site for training
  • Conveniently located office in Melbourne's south-east
