About the opportunity

A well-established, family-owned business is seeking an experienced Group Payroll Administrator to take ownership of its international monthly payroll. This is a genuine succession opportunity: you'll work alongside a long-standing incumbent through a planned handover before they retire in mid-2027, giving you time to learn the business and make the role your own. Reporting to the CFO, with a dotted line to the People Services Manager, you'll be the trusted payroll specialist for 100-150 employees across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, the UK and Ireland. Weekly and fortnightly warehouse and casual payrolls are managed separately, so you can focus on accuracy, compliance and improvement across the group’s monthly cycles.

What you'll be doing

  • Processing end-to-end monthly payrolls across six countries, ensuring accurate and timely payment
  • Calculating and paying bonuses and incentives
  • Overseeing the Time & Attendance system, including employee setup, timesheet validation and reporting
  • Preparing and posting payroll journals to the general ledger
  • Reconciling and managing PAYG, superannuation and international pension obligations
  • Managing payroll tax across Australian states, workers' compensation premiums and claims administration
  • Preparing WGEA reporting and payroll reporting, including leave, long service leave and years of service
  • Interpreting awards, employment conditions and policies, and maintaining confidential employee records
  • Identifying and recommending continuous improvement opportunities in payroll processes and systems
  • Providing professional payroll advice to employees, managers and external stakeholders

What you'll bring

  • 8+ years' end-to-end payroll experience in a medium-sized organisation, managing multiple payroll cycles
  • Multi-country payroll experience (highly regarded), particularly across APAC and the UK/Ireland
  • Sound knowledge of industrial awards, employment legislation and leave entitlements
  • Proven experience with payroll reconciliations, audits, payroll tax, superannuation and statutory reporting
  • A strong grasp of accounting principles, payroll journals and general ledger processes
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with payroll, time and attendance, and accounting systems
  • Exceptional accuracy, discretion and the ability to work independently to tight deadlines

What's on offer

  • Rewarding salary package inclusive of superannuation.
  • Western Suburbs location with a minimum of four days in the office and one from home.
  • A trusted, autonomous position with direct CFO exposure and support.
  • A stable, family-owned business that values respect, collaboration and long-term careers.

This is a position of trust. The successful candidate will be required to provide a clean national police check.
