About the Role
We are urgently seeking multiple experienced and dependable Heavy Rigid (HR) Drivers for an immediate start with our team based out of Smithfield.
This role involves local driving with pre-loaded vehicles and minimal manual handling. Starting as a temporary assignment with a genuine Temp-to-Perm opportunity, this is an ideal role for drivers looking for stable, ongoing work.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Heavy Rigid manual trucks safely and efficiently across local routes.
- Work standard day shifts running 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (flexibility required for shorter days or overtime based on daily workload).
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and cleaning (washing 1–2 trucks per month, usually scheduled on shorter working days).
- Conduct basic pre-start checks to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness.
What We’re Looking For
- Availability: Ready for an immediate start.
- License & Experience: Valid HR License with proven experience driving manual trucks (synchromesh gearbox and split-shift/two-stick operation).
- Driving Record: Clean RMS driving record with no suspensions, cancellations, or dangerous driving infringements in the past 5 years.
- Safety First: Commitment to safety standards, including full PPE (Long pants, long-sleeve Hi-Vis uniform, and steel-cap safety boots).
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and capable of working independently.
