In this role, you'll **diagnose, repair and maintain a wide range of Caterpillar equipment and diesel generators across various customer sites**.

This is a **Permanent, 15/13 roster!****What you'll be doing**As a **Field Service Diesel Fitter** at Hastings Deering, you will:

• **Deliver expert mechanical service** – carry out diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on Caterpillar mobile plant and diesel generator systems across customer sites.
• **Lead field-based problem solving** – respond to breakdowns, identify faults quickly and implement effective solutions to get equipment back online.
• **Maintain equipment reliability** – perform scheduled servicing and component change-outs to keep customer fleets operating safely and efficiently.
• **Operate independently** – work autonomously across the Darling Downs region, managing your workload while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• **Apply technical precision** – use Caterpillar systems, service information and diagnostic tooling to ensure all work meets OEM standards.

• **Trade qualifications** – Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent diesel fitter trade.
• **Caterpillar product knowledge** – experience working on CAT machinery, systems and diagnostic tooling (Desirable but not essential).
• **Generator expertise** – strong hands-on experience servicing and repairing **Caterpillar diesel generators** in field environments.
• **Strong troubleshooting skills** – ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults independently.
• **Customer-focused mindset** – confident in building relationships, managing expectations and providing clear updates.
• **Safety-first approach** – committed to maintaining high WHS standards at all times.
