Sibanye Stillwater Australia (SSWA), a subsidiary of the global mining and metals group Sibanye Stillwater Limited, leads in mining, tailings management, and economic rehabilitation. Our flagship Century Operations and Karumba Port in Queensland form Australia’s largest tailings re-mining and processing operation, with potential to transition to new production post-2027.
This is an opportunity to help build the workforce for the Mt Lyell Project in Tasmania as it moves through project completion and prepares for operations. You’ll coordinate recruitment campaigns across a range of operational and project roles, helping hiring managers bring the right people on board in line with workforce plans and project milestones.
While Mt Lyell’s workforce ramp-up will be a priority, you’ll also support recruitment across Century Operations, Karumba Port and our regional support functions. Working with hiring managers and the broader HR team, you’ll combine practical recruitment delivery with sound advice and a positive candidate experience. This is a fixed-term role aligned to the increased recruitment demand through Mt Lyell’s project completion and workforce establishment.
The role is home-based on a 5/2 roster, with regular travel to all Australian operations, including Century Operations, Karumba Port Operations and the Mt Lyell Project. You’ll be expected to spend extended periods at Mt Lyell during peak recruitment campaigns to work directly with hiring managers and support candidate and mobilisation activities. Site travel is a core part of the role and may occasionally be required at short notice. Preference will be given to east coast-based candidates for travel logistics, though all suitably qualified applicants will be considered.

- Manage high-volume applications, interview scheduling and candidate communications during peak recruitment campaigns.
- Coordinate with the HR Officer to ensure required pre-employment checks are completed before written offers are issued, and support offer coordination and onboarding handover.
- Keep candidates informed throughout the process and provide a professional, respectful experience from application through to outcome.
- Maintain accurate recruitment records, approvals and vacancy tracking, and report progress, delays and sourcing challenges to the Senior Manager Human Resources.
- Support local, regional and Indigenous employment opportunities where applicable, consistent with merit-based selection and community commitments.
- Provide practical advice on recruitment procedures, assessment, remuneration approvals, privacy and confidentiality, while meeting site safety requirements during travel.
