About the role: As a Credit Analyst, you'll be a crucial part of our customers' journeys, carefully reviewing credit applications from both customers and brokers. With a keen eye for detail, you'll look at bank statements, financial documents, and other key information to help determine each applicant’s creditworthiness and suggest the right lending options. Your expertise will not only help us manage risk, but also contribute to outstanding outcomes for our customers.

What you'll do:

  • Connect with applicants and brokers over the phone to gather information and discuss loan requirements
  • Deliver accurate and thorough credit assessments, recommending lending limits that fit Shift’s approach
  • Make sure every customer application is matched with the right products and services
  • Keep detailed records of risk factors and ways to manage them, supporting confident decision-making
  • Develop strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and brokers to support business growth
  • Follow credit underwriting guidelines and compliance standards, and maintain accurate data in our systems
  • Team up with Relationship Managers and Sales teams, offering support, coaching, and mentorship
  • Look for ways to improve our processes and service, helping the whole team work more efficiently

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience with Delegated Lending Authority in commercial or business lending
  • Strong business sense, with a solid grasp of the SME market
  • A proven ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Experience analyzing commercial credit through financial and bank statements (bonus points for familiarity with non-traditional data!)
  • A sharp, analytical mindset with great attention to detail
  • Background in risk or analytics roles, or experience with finance products in point-of-sale settings, is a plus but not required
  • Fantastic communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships
  • A dedication to compliance and ensuring data accuracy

Key benefits:

  • Collaborative teams – a flat structure means everyone can learn from colleagues and senior leaders around the business.
