About the Role

A growing Australian retailer is looking for a State Manager to lead its New South Wales stores.

You'd be the business's partner in NSW: responsible for 30 stores from Sydney CBD to regional centres, the store managers who run them, and the results they deliver.

You'll report to the Head of Retail and work closely with the buying, marketing and support office teams.

The business has opened 5 new stores in the past 2 years and has more planned.

That means your role isn't only about running what's there.

You'll help choose new sites, open them well and build the teams that staff them.

What you'll do

You’ll spend most of your week in stores, not behind a desk.

You'll coach store managers on sales, staffing, rosters and stock, and help them grow into bigger roles.

You'll own the NSW budget and P&L, and you'll know which stores are ahead, which are behind, and why.

You'll bring what you see on the shop floor back to head office, so range, events and promotions suit NSW customers.

You'll lead store openings and refits in the state, and keep standards consistent across every location.

  • What you'll bring
  • You've managed multiple retail sites before, as a State, Area or Regional Manager, or as a senior store manager ready for the next step.
  • You're comfortable reading a P&L and turning the numbers into a plan a store team can act on.
  • You'd rather develop people than replace them.
  • You'll need a driver's licence and be happy to travel across NSW, including overnight trips to regional stores.
  • What's on offer

Competitive salary package plus car allowance, bonus structure and a staff discount.

Implement new customer centric sales training and support the Head of Retail to continuously improve the business.
