About the Company

My client is an established construction business specialising in insurance reinstatement and large-loss projects for leading Australian insurance brands, across residential and commercial properties.

About the Role

Working closely with project managers and finance, you will coordinate building compliance, subcontractor documentation and insurance requirements while supporting project cost tracking, WIP reporting and month-end accruals. This hands-on role combines compliance administration, project coordination and financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building Compliance: Monitor domestic building insurance, permits, contracts and other required documentation across active projects, following up outstanding items with project managers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Project & Cost Tracking: Maintain project trackers, support monthly WIP reporting, monitor variations, costs to date and cost-to-complete forecasts, and assist with month-end cost accruals and reconciliations.
  • WHS & Site Compliance: Check that required safety documentation, including SWMS, inductions and site safety records, is current and appropriately maintained. Coordinate follow-up actions from inspections and audits.
  • Subcontractor Management: Maintain subcontractor licensing and insurance records, monitor expiry dates and follow up renewals to ensure trades are appropriately documented and compliant before engagement.
  • Reporting & Risk Management: Maintain central compliance registers, track outstanding actions and upcoming renewals, identify potential compliance or project margin risks, and provide regular reporting to management.

About You

You will be a methodical and commercially minded professional who enjoys bringing structure, accuracy and accountability to a busy project environment. You will be confident following up stakeholders, identifying discrepancies and ensuring important details do not fall through the cracks.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Prior experience in compliance, contract administration, project coordination or a similar role, ideally within building, construction or insurance.
  • An understanding of building compliance requirements, particularly domestic building insurance and Victorian construction regulations.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with experience or exposure to project costings, WIP reporting, month-end accruals and reconciliations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and experience maintaining registers, trackers and compliance documentation across multiple projects.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and reconciliations, alongside confidence using Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Clear communication skills and the confidence to follow up project managers, subcontractors and external stakeholders to resolve outstanding items.

What's on Offer?

  • Competitive salary of $100,000 + superannuation.
  • The opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of residential and commercial construction projects.
  • A broad role combining compliance, project tracking and financial oversight.
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and collaboration across project delivery and finance.
  • A supportive working environment with potential for hybrid flexibility following an initial settling-in period.
