About our client

Our client is a well-established manufacturer in south Brisbane, part of a global family-owned group. With a team of around 45, it's a site where your work is visible and your voice carries weight. Manufacturing and distribution businesses of this kind live or die on stock accuracy, and this is a role where you'll make a real difference to how inventory supports production and the bottom line.

About the role

We're looking for an analytical Inventory Controller to take ownership of stock accuracy, replenishment and reporting. This is a desk-based role. Picking, forklift work, dispatch and receipting are handled by the storemen and the procurement and finance team, so your focus is on the numbers and what they mean for the business. You’ll report directly to the Operations Manager and work closely with Production, Purchasing and Finance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Analysing stock levels against demand and output, and setting and managing min/max levels
  • Spotting excess, slow-moving and obsolete stock early, and acting before it becomes a write-off
  • Planning and managing the flow of inbound imported stock
  • Keeping inventory records accurate in the ERP and investigating stock discrepancies
  • Reviewing BOM requirements against availability to support production schedules
  • Running cycle counts and coordinating the annual stocktake
  • Reporting on inventory accuracy, stock valuation, turns and variances

About you

  • At least 2 years’ inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on ERP/MRP experience (Pronto is a bonus, but similar systems are transferable)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Confident with MS 365
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent
  • Comfortable working from a desk and turning data into decisions
  • Keen to learn. Hands-on warehouse experience is a bonus, and the business is happy to teach someone who clearly understands inventory

Hours and location

Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm (flexible) On site at Eight Mile Plains
