The Company

Our client is a high-growth, profitable national 3PL and transport business with a strong appetite for continued expansion and new customer acquisition. Operating a hybrid delivery model that combines a directly employed fleet with an extensive contractor network across Australia, they've built their reputation on safety, service reliability, and long-term partnerships with highly stable, high-profile customers. With great long-term opportunities on offer, they are now entering an exciting growth phase in Western Australia.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this is a genuine P&L leadership role overseeing a sizeable, multi-channel state operation, including a company-employed operations team, a competent internal management team, and a broader network of contracted personnel operating across metro and regional sites. You'll take full accountability for safety, customer outcomes, contractor performance, and commercial results, bringing strong commercial acumen and genuine P&L exposure to the role. This is a role for an energetic, strategic people leader with a genuine passion for coaching and developing teams; someone who can walk the floor, get close to the detail, and bring structure and cadence to an engaged team that's ready for its next chapter.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Full P&L accountability across multiple service channels within WA
  • Leading and developing a team of Operations Managers and Coordinators, with a broader workforce of company employees and contractors
  • Driving rostering, scheduling and resourcing across a 24/7 operating model
  • Strengthening relationships with key customers, with a strong focus on service delivery and DIFOT
  • Setting the standard on safety leadership and embedding a genuine safety culture across all levels of the team
  • Partnering closely with national support functions - Fleet, Finance, Safety, and Customer Service - to drive outcomes
  • Identifying and capitalising on growth opportunities, including new customer acquisition, as the state footprint expands over the next 12 months

About You

  • Commercially savvy leader with genuine P&L exposure at scale, ideally within transport, logistics, 3PL, last-mile delivery, or contract logistics
  • Strong background managing fleet operations (company and/or subcontracted) within a 24/7 service environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing a mixed direct + contractor workforce of scale
  • An energetic, strategic people leader with a genuine passion for coaching and developing teams
  • A leader who can translate strategy into a simple, actionable plan - and follow it through
  • Strong stakeholder and customer management skills
  • A safety-first mindset with a track record of building high-performing, engaged teams

This is a rare career opportunity to take full ownership and control of a sizeable and profitable state business with strong fundamentals. You'll work under an outstanding, present and supportive COO who has built a genuine culture of high performance and excellence, backed by a great national leadership group. With a loyal, profitable and excellent customer base already in place, this is your chance to shape the state's next phase of growth and leave a lasting mark on the business.
