About the Role
We are seeking a capable and motivated Financial Accountant to join our finance team, initially on a temp basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on, varied role and wants to contribute across financial reporting, month-end processes, compliance, treasury and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Finance Controller, you will play an important role in maintaining the integrity of financial information, supporting business performance and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Working within a collaborative well established finance team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting activities and work closely with both corporate and site-based teams.
The role also offers variety beyond traditional financial accounting, with opportunities to provide practical support to payroll during peak periods and leave coverage, contributing to the overall strength and flexibility of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Accounting: Prepare and post journals, accruals and month-end adjustments, complete balance-sheet reconciliations and support timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare management reports, supporting schedules and variance analysis, assisting with statutory reporting, budgets and forecasts.
- Tax, Compliance & Audit: Support income tax, FBT and GST compliance, prepare audit schedules and maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Treasury & Accounts Payable: Assist with cash-flow reporting, bank reconciliations, payment administration, supplier reconciliations and procurement processes.
- Payroll Support: Provide practical backup to the payroll team during busy periods and leave coverage, including payroll processing support, reconciliations, reporting and related accounting activities.
- Systems & Continuous Improvement: Utilise Pronto and other finance systems effectively, strengthen financial controls and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
About You
You are a proactive and adaptable accounting professional who takes pride in accuracy, accountability and delivering quality outcomes. You enjoy working in a hands-on environment, can manage competing priorities and are comfortable working collaboratively across different business functions. Whilst this role is initially a temp role, it will be expected to move into a permanent role at the beginning of 2027.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to build a broad and rewarding accounting career within a dynamic mining environment. You will gain exposure to diverse financial activities, work alongside an experienced finance team and make a meaningful contribution to the financial performance and operational success of the business.
