The opportunity
Our client is a well-established Australian distribution business in an exciting period of change. They’re looking for a hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead a multi-shift site in Brisbane and take real ownership of how it runs. This is a genuine opportunity to shape a site: lift standards, build capability in your team and leave the operation in a stronger position than you found it. You’ll have the backing of senior leadership, a clear mandate for change and plenty of room to make the role your own.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading all day-to-day warehouse operations across receiving, storage, picking and dispatch
- Building a high-performing, accountable team culture with clear expectations around safety, productivity and housekeeping
- Coaching and developing supervisors and team leaders to lift leadership capability on the floor
- Owning WHS compliance and driving a strong safety culture
- Planning labour, managing budgets and monitoring KPIs including pick accuracy, service levels and costs
- Partnering with sales, supply chain and other business leaders to deliver outstanding customer service
- Driving practical continuous improvement initiatives and supporting stocktakes, audits and system and process change
About you
- Proven experience managing a warehouse or distribution operation across multiple shifts
- A strong people leader who can build culture, set clear standards and bring people along
- Background in a small to mid-sized business where you’ve been resourceful and built process yourself, without large specialist support teams
- A solid understanding of WHS requirements and a genuine safety focus
- Customer-service mindset and strong relationship-building skills
- A pragmatic, roll-your-sleeves-up approach, with a “seek to understand” style when leading change
- Experience in wide-range distribution, trade, wholesale or similar high-service environments is highly regarded, but we’re open on industry for the right leader
Why apply
- A real mandate to lead change and make your mark on a site
- Supportive senior leadership and a structured buddy and check-in approach
- Exposure to business and systems improvement initiatives
- Stable, well-backed business with long-term investment behind it
- Day-based management hours with presence across shifts
