Reporting to the General Manager Business Services, you'll play a key role in ensuring our workplaces are safe, efficient, compliant, and fit for purpose while driving continuous improvement and exceptional service delivery.

Managing a national portfolio of approximately 50 sites, the majority of which are industrial properties, this role is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of workplace and facilities services across the Group's property portfolio. About the Role

  • Location: Collins Street, Melbourne (with national oversight and occasional travel)
  • Work type: Full time permanent

This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the day-to-day management of workplace and facilities operations across a diverse national portfolio. You'll lead a small team and work closely with internal stakeholders, landlords, contractors, and service providers to ensure our workplaces support operational excellence across the business. You will be accountable for driving efficiencies, managing risk, controlling costs, and delivering high-quality workplace experiences for our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation and performance of Service Stream's national property portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain facilities maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Support and optimise workplace and facilities operations across a national portfolio of predominantly industrial properties.
  • Coordinate workplace maintenance, service requests, and contractor response activities.
  • Manage relationships with landlords, contractors, and service providers to ensure high service standards and value for money.
  • Oversee workplace health and safety compliance across all facilities.
  • Lead and develop a team of Workplace/Facilities Coordinators.
  • Manage facilities budgets, operational expenditure (OPEX), supplier approvals, and property-related financial reporting, ensuring effective P&L management and cost control across the portfolio.
  • Plan and deliver property projects including site mobilisations, relocations, fit-outs, workplace upgrades, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process optimisation, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory obligations, and sustainability objectives.

About You

  • At least 5 years' experience in property, workplace, or facilities management.
  • Strong experience managing facilities operations across multiple sites.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to engage, influence, and develop teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, including OPEX and P&L management, budget development, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Experience managing contractors, service providers, and supplier performance.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering workplace or property-related projects, including the management of CAPEX programs and property infrastructure upgrades.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.
