Join our team at SGP Consulting Engineers as our new Structural Engineer or Draftsperson. This full-time position is based in Bendigo, VIC, where you'll play a key role in designing and delivering structural engineering projects for our clients. This exciting opportunity will give you plenty of exposure to a wide variety of interesting and challenging projects.
What you'll be doing:
- Preparing detailed structural engineering designs, including calculations, drawings, and specifications for commercial and residential projects.
- Design and detailing for reinforced concrete works in precast and pre-stressed concrete.
- Collaborating with project managers, architects, building designers, councils, contractors, fabricators and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet requirements.
- Producing high-quality technical documentation and reports.
- Staying up-to-date with relevant engineering standards, regulations, and best practice.
What we're looking for:
- Solid experience and proficiency in CAD is essential, and qualifications will be highly regarded.
- Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred but not required.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within the building/civil/structural engineering industry.
- Our office currently uses AutoCAD 2017 and Civil 3D.
- Strong technical design and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to 'right first time' philosophy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently to meet customer time expectations, manage priorities and deliver under pressure.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and building codes.
