Small coastal cabin property | Accommodation Provided

We are seeking a dependable, practical and welcoming manager to care for a small, well-maintained coastal accommodation property and support our excellent staff. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys gardening, general upkeep, guest relations and working alongside a small team. The responsibilities are straightforward, the surroundings are beautiful, and the property is something to take pride in.

About the role

Most of your working day will be spent outside around the property, looking after the small garden, assisting staff, checking cabins and being available to guests. Office administration typically takes approximately 1 hour per day as much of the administration is handled off-site. You will need to manage this efficiently while maintaining a friendly, visible presence around the property. We are looking for someone who notices what needs doing, takes initiative and maintains consistent standards over time. You will work to an agreed schedule, with clear daily responsibilities, planned maintenance tasks and regular communication with the owners. Flexibility is available around operational needs and agreed coverage, with the expectation that duties are completed and staff and guests are consistently supported.

Key responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and be approachable, available and present throughout the working day.
  • Work alongside the cleaning team, organise daily priorities and provide practical support.
  • Inspect cabins after cleaning and address presentation or maintenance issues before guests arrive.
  • Maintain gardens, including weeding, tidying and garden-bed upkeep.
  • Complete general maintenance and scheduled cleaning tasks, including windows and upholstery.
  • Support the cleaning team when required and occasionally help with in-house laundry.
  • Manage cleaning rosters and assist with training additional staff.
  • Manage reservations, enquiries and payments through our PMS.
  • Administer Airbnb, Booking.com and Expedia, including guest communications.
  • Coordinate trades and follow up outstanding maintenance when required.
  • Keep owners informed about operations, staffing and property needs.

About you

You are reliable, practical and someone your team can count on. You enjoy contributing personally to the daily work and take satisfaction in clean accommodation, tidy gardens and happy guests. You will bring:

  • A consistent work ethic and the ability to work independently.
  • A supportive approach to staff and a willingness to help with practical tasks.
  • Gardening, cleaning and general maintenance skills.
  • The ability to undertake the physical duties of property upkeep.
  • A friendly, responsive approach to guests and prompt attention to the work mobile.
  • Experience operating a PMS with direct administration of Airbnb, Booking.com and Expedia.
  • Clear communication and comfort with regular owner reporting.
  • Comfort working around dogs, as the property offers pet-friendly accommodation.

Living and working on site

Accommodation is provided on-site. You will be required to live on site, be present most evenings and provide after-hours availability under agreed arrangements. Working hours, days off and coverage arrangements will be clearly discussed during recruitment. The property offers short stays only, with no permanent residents. Summer is the busiest season, while quieter periods allow time for preventative maintenance, deeper cleaning and garden improvements.

What we offer

  • A manageable, varied role at a well-presented coastal property.
  • On-site accommodation.
  • An excellent established cleaning team.
  • Support from a dedicated laundry staff and a lawn-mowing contractor.
  • Approachable owners who value clear communication.
  • Training and support during handover, with autonomy supported by consistent performance.
