We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated and highly organised Gardener to take ownership of the ongoing maintenance, presentation and improvement of a portfolio of four private residential properties and one commercial property.
Employed directly by the company, you will travel between properties throughout the working week, typically spending one day at each site. Working with a high-net-worth family, you will be responsible for ensuring all gardens, grounds and landscaped areas are maintained to an exceptional standard.
This is an opportunity for a skilled gardening professional who enjoys working autonomously and takes pride in delivering high-quality results. You will manage all aspects of garden maintenance, irrigation and landscaping, from routine upkeep and seasonal planting through to undertaking landscaping projects as required.
You will be trusted to identify maintenance needs, plan and prioritise your workload, coordinate external service providers and maintain accurate service records, ensuring each property is consistently presented to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain gardens, lawns, hedges, trees, garden beds and landscaped areas across all five properties.
Undertake mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, mulching, planting, fertilising and seasonal maintenance.
Maintain a consistently high standard of presentation, cleanliness and attention to detail.
Monitor plant health, soil conditions, drainage and the overall condition of outdoor spaces.
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the appearance, health and functionality of each property's gardens.
Landscaping & Irrigation
Plan and undertake landscaping projects as required, including planting, garden bed improvements and general landscape enhancements.
Maintain and troubleshoot irrigation systems, identifying leaks, blockages and other performance issues.
Complete minor repairs and adjustments where appropriate and coordinate specialist contractors when required.
Recommend improvements to planting schemes, irrigation, drainage and landscape presentation.
Manage seasonal gardening requirements to maintain healthy, attractive and well-presented outdoor environments.
Multi-Site Property Management
Independently plan and manage a weekly schedule across four residential properties and one commercial site.
Take ownership of each property's gardening and grounds maintenance requirements, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Identify, document and coordinate the resolution of maintenance issues.
Liaise with external contractors and service providers, monitor outstanding works and review completed services.
Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance logs and records of work completed, upcoming requirements and issues requiring attention.
Manage gardening supplies, consumables and equipment, ensuring resources are used efficiently and appropriately.
Professionalism & Safety
Exercise discretion and respect the privacy of the family, residents and property occupants.
Work safely and responsibly, maintaining tools and equipment in good working order.
Communicate professionally with company representatives, contractors and other stakeholders.
Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement and accountability when managing day-to-day responsibilities.
About You
You are a hands-on gardening professional who takes pride in your work and understands what is required to maintain premium residential and commercial grounds. You are comfortable working independently, managing your own schedule and taking responsibility for the condition and presentation of multiple properties.
You will ideally possess:
Demonstrated experience in professional gardening, horticulture, landscaping or grounds maintenance.
Strong practical knowledge of plant care, pruning, soil management, irrigation systems and seasonal garden maintenance.
Experience undertaking landscaping projects and improving established garden spaces.
The ability to work autonomously, plan workloads and manage competing priorities across multiple sites.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying maintenance requirements.
Good organisational and record-keeping skills, including preparing service reports and tracking outstanding works.
Professional communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with contractors and stakeholders.
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to consistently high presentation standards.
A current driver's licence and the ability to travel between properties as required.
A Certificate III or higher qualification in Horticulture, or a related field, will be highly regarded.
Experience maintaining premium residential gardens, private estates or high-end commercial grounds would be advantageous.
What We Offer
Full-time, permanent employment with a consistent Monday-to-Friday schedule.
Company vehicle provided for travel between properties.
A varied role across four private residential properties and one commercial site.
Tools and equipment provided.
Opportunities to undertake landscaping projects and contribute to ongoing property improvements.
