HR Business Partner (Learning & Development)
Reporting to the National HR Manager, you'll work closely with managers and operational leaders across the business. This is a genuine two-part role: hands-on generalist HR business partnering AND designing and delivering learning and development.
Key responsibilities
- Coach managers to lead their teams, manage performance and take accountability for people matters
- Drive consistent performance management, including probation reviews, appraisals and improvement plans
- Advise on employee relations, workplace matters, policy and employment compliance
- Support workforce planning, succession planning and internal career development
- Improve HR processes and systems, and follow through until agreed actions are done
- Identify leadership capability gaps and design and deliver practical management training
- Build structured training plans and individual development plans for staff
- Help implement and then run a new training and learning management system (LMS)
- Identify training needs, coordinate learning, and track training compliance and completion
About you
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role, partnering with operational managers
- Hands-on experience designing and delivering training, capability or development programs, not just coordinating them
- Experience coaching managers and running performance management processes
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment law and Fair Work requirements
- Experience with HR systems and/or learning management systems (implementing or rolling one out is a strong plus)
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related field
- Confident challenging managers constructively and chasing follow-through; credible with blunt, practical site and operations leaders
- Construction, transport, logistics or a similar operational background is highly regarded
- Based in or able to commute to Hallam (South East Melbourne)
