Reporting to the Operations Manager, Metrowide Facility Management is seeking a dedicated Building Manager/Cleaner to join our team on a full-time basis in Melbourne CBD. This is a pivotal role that combines facility management with hands-on cleaning operations, ensuring our clients' building is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
You will be responsible for day-to-day cleaning operations whilst also managing building maintenance and compliance matters. This position is essential to delivering exceptional service to our commercial and residential clients and maintaining Metrowide Facility Management's reputation for excellence in the cleaning services industry.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage daily cleaning operations across the assigned building, ensuring all areas meet strict quality and safety standards.
- Perform hands-on cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitising and waste removal in all building areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance issues and cleaning requirements.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to address building repairs, fixture replacements and general upkeep.
- Manage cleaning schedules and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, maintenance requests and building conditions.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to building management and cleaning operations.
- Communicate effectively with clients and tenants regarding building services and maintenance issues.
- Monitor and manage cleaning supplies and equipment, including ordering and inventory control.
- Report to the Operations Manager building performance and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience in building management, facility management or commercial cleaning operations.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in professional cleaning services across commercial environments.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment and best practices in the cleaning industry.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
- Solid understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance requirements.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
- Reliability, attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
