An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced and qualified Greenkeeper to maintain extensive lawn and landscaped areas at a prestigious private property in Macedon.
This hands-on position would suit someone who takes pride in maintaining outdoor spaces to an exceptional standard and has strong practical experience across turf management, irrigation, planting and general grounds maintenance.
What does the role involve?
Working Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining large lawn areas featuring Zoysia and Kikuyu turf oversewn with Ryegrass
- Operating large ride-on and self-propelled mowers
- Managing turf fertiliser applications and weed-control programs
- Identifying and managing turf diseases
- Managing and adjusting irrigation systems to support optimal turf and plant health
- Troubleshooting irrigation issues and identifying opportunities to improve system performance
- Completing lawn renovation, edging and turf-trimming activities
- Operating boom-spraying equipment safely and effectively
- Planning and completing seasonal planting activities, including bulb planting
- Maintaining the presentation of gardens and grounds to a consistently high standard
- Working collaboratively and communicating effectively with other team members
What experience and skills are required?
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- A recognised Greenkeeping or relevant turf-management qualification
- Demonstrated experience working as a Greenkeeper or in a comparable turf-management position
- Strong practical knowledge of turf management, lawn care and renovation
- Experience maintaining large lawn areas or high-standard private, commercial or prestigious properties
- Experience planning and executing seasonal planting programs, including bulbs
- Practical experience managing, adjusting and troubleshooting irrigation systems
- Knowledge of fertiliser application, weed control and turf-disease management
- Experience operating ride-on mowers, self-propelled mowers and boom-spraying equipment
- A full and valid Victorian driver licence
- The physical capability to work outdoors and safely undertake manual activities
- A strong eye for detail and pride in producing high-quality work
