Gladstone Sheet Metal is seeking an enthusiastic fabricator/ sheet metal worker to join our team. This is a full-time role based in Gladstone and Central Queensland, where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality sheet metal and fabrication work as part of our Trades & Services operations.
What you'll be doing:
- Fabricate and install a range of metal products including ductwork, mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel fabricated products and other custom items.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.
- Operate various sheet metal machinery and tools such as press brakes, folders, shears and welding equipment.
- Carry out routine maintenance and quality checks on equipment.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver projects on time and to specification.
- Maintain a safe and organised work environment, following all health and safety protocols.
What we're looking for:
- Trade qualification in sheet metal fabrication or a related discipline.
- Experience as a sheet metal tradesman, ideally within the HVAC or manufacturing industries but not essential.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in operating a range of sheet metal machinery and tools, including welding equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to safety and a commitment to maintaining a clean, organised work environment.
