We are a Melbourne-based precast concrete modular housing company focused on the design, research, manufacturing and application of modular building systems. We are recruiting two Architectural Design & Drafting Assistants to support architectural design, external design-team coordination, building documentation, presentation visuals and modular technical development.
About the role
Support residential concept design, external design coordination and clear proposal communication, helping translate architectural ideas into buildable solutions within a modular system.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with residential concepts, floor plans, elevations and sections for House, Townhouse and multi-storey residential projects.
- Refine layouts in response to project needs and the characteristics of the company's modular products.
- Liaise with external architects, building designers, developers and engineering consultants.
- Provide modular product requirements and design guidance, and support the adaptation of conventional proposals to the modular construction system.
- Prepare and coordinate design drawings and information for Town Planning and Building Permit stages; record design feedback and follow up drawing updates.
- Build 3D models and prepare exterior renderings, facade concept imagery, coloured plans and massing diagrams.
- Assist with presentation material for clients, developers, investors and internal design reviews.
- Assist in coordinating preliminary architectural, structural, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical requirements.
- Work with external consultants on drawing changes and check compatibility with modular dimensions, structure and manufacturing conditions.
About you
- Background in architecture, architectural design, architectural technology or a related discipline.
- Ability to develop residential concepts and prepare floor plans, elevations and sections, with an understanding of basic construction.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit or similar architectural design software, plus 3D modelling, rendering and presentation layout skills.
- Awareness of Australian residential design and related requirements is advantageous.
- Ability to read and understand Chinese, with strong English communication and coordination skills.
- Sound design judgement, spatial awareness and a collaborative approach.
