Advanced Powder Coating & Sand Blasting is looking for a reliable, hands-on workshop operator to work across powder coating, abrasive blasting and metal preparation. You don’t need to have done both processes. We’re interested in people with practical experience in powder coating, sandblasting, industrial painting or a closely related metal finishing role. You should understand workshop safety, take pride in your work and be ready to build on the skills you already have.

About the role:
You’ll help prepare and finish a varied range of automotive, commercial, architectural and industrial components. Duties will depend on your experience and may include:
- Operating powder coating equipment and applying consistent finishes
- Abrasive blasting and preparing metal surfaces for coating
- Preparing, masking and checking components
- Coating or blasting parts with different shapes, sizes and requirements
- Checking work for coverage, contamination and finish defects
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
- Handling materials and assisting with general workshop duties
Our work includes race car chassis, motorcycle parts, wheels, brake components, 4WD canopies, ute trays, structural steel, architectural aluminium and custom-fabricated parts. It’s varied workshop work rather than repetitive conveyor-line production.
About you:
You’ll be considered if you have hands-on experience in at least one of these areas:
- Powder coating
- Abrasive blasting or sandblasting
- Industrial or spray painting
- Surface preparation or another closely related metal finishing role
You’ll also need to be:
- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
- Careful about finish quality and detail
- Comfortable working in a busy workshop
- Physically capable of workshop duties
- Located within a reasonable traveling distance of Blacktown
- Able to work in Australia without sponsorship
A forklift license and 2-pack spray painting experience are advantages, but aren’t essential. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a paid practical skills assessment suited to their experience.
