Are you a relationship builder who sees possibilities others might miss — and knows how to turn a promising conversation into a lasting partnership? Do you enjoy shaping strategy, opening doors and putting practical systems behind good ideas? Are you comfortable working closely with a small team where your judgement and initiative can help shape what comes next?

SEE Together is seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial fundraiser to build the next stage of our fundraising program.

About SEE Together

SEE Together is a for-purpose Australian eye care development organisation. In many parts of the world, access to a simple eye test or pair of glasses is still hard to come by. We champion, train and equip local practitioners and trainers, and work alongside trusted partners to strengthen the services, glasses supply and referral pathways that support their work. Our aim is lasting, quality eye care delivered to the community, by the community — reaching further so more people can access the care they need.

Building on more than 20 years of our founder’s volunteer work in Mongolia, local training teams now deliver hybrid courses, with graduates bringing eye care closer in all 21 provinces. Our work has since grown to include partnerships in India, with a vision for clear sight to reach many more communities and countries.

The Opportunity

As our first dedicated fundraising hire, you will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Board and founding team. Your primary focus will be major gifts and philanthropic partnerships, building on existing relationships and developing new ones. You will also work with colleagues across grants, supporter communications, marketing campaigns and events to build a coordinated fundraising program. This is a role for someone who enjoys both strategic thinking and hands‑on delivery. You will have meaningful scope to shape fundraising direction, build systems and develop relationships that support lasting impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy, prioritising major gifts and philanthropic partnerships
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major and mid-level donors, philanthropic partners and Gifts in Wills prospects
  • Work with colleagues to progress grant, trust and foundation opportunities
  • Partner with the CEO and Board in donor meetings, briefings and presentations
  • Develop compelling proposals, cases for support and impact reports
  • Build donor journeys and stewardship plans, and help coordinate appeals, regular giving and small events
  • Establish CRM processes, manage the fundraising pipeline and report on progress
  • Uphold ethical fundraising practice, compliance and thoughtful donor care

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience building trusted relationships with high-capacity donors or philanthropic partners
  • Experience in fundraising, partnerships or a closely related field
  • Strong communication skills, including storytelling, proposal writing and presenting
  • The ability to turn strategy into practical action and manage competing priorities
  • Confidence using donor management systems and performance information to guide your work
  • Initiative, adaptability and sound judgement in a growing organisation
  • A collaborative approach, sensitivity across cultures and alignment with SEE Together’s purpose and values

Why Join Us?

You will help shape a growing fundraising program, work closely with the CEO and Board, and connect supporters with locally led eye care work that can last and keep reaching further. The role is remote and part-time at 0.8 FTE, negotiable. Some out-of-hours work and occasional domestic and international travel will be required. SEE Together is committed to child safeguarding. All staff must undergo relevant checks.
