We take a whole-of-person approach to health and wellbeing β€” spiritual, cultural, emotional and family wellbeing included β€” and we're deeply committed to evidence-based, culturally appropriate care. We're proud to prioritise the recruitment and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, and we're building genuine career pathways for community members into clinical, leadership and support roles.

The Family Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) Healing Coordinator position is well suited to someone with a recognised tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers, as well as an understanding of Aboriginal cultural values and commitment to the advancement and self-determination of Aboriginal communities.

The FDSV Healing Coordinator provides leadership, coordination and clinical oversight of the Big Rivers Healing for Our Mob program. A key focus of the position is strengthening integration across partnering organisations, ensuring healing and wellbeing of FDSV victim-survivors and communities remain central to service delivery. The program also works in partnership with communities to deliver education and awareness of FDSV, improve access to support pathways and promote culturally grounded recovery and healing.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide guidance and coordination of the Big Rivers Healing for Our Mob program, ensuring effective and culturally secure service delivery.
  • Strengthen multidisciplinary integration across partnering organisations to ensure a holistic, health-led approach to supporting FDSV victim-survivors and communities.
  • In collaboration with the case workers, oversee referral and intake processes, ensuring timely triage, appropriate allocation, and prioritisation of clients based on risk and need.
  • Ensure high-quality case management practices, including the development, implementation, and regular review of care plans, risk assessments, and case documentation.
  • Provide mentoring and support to the FDSV Healing Practitioners, Cultural Healing Support Officers and Health Promotion Officers and reflective practice supervision to students, fostering professional development, reflective practice, and staff wellbeing.
  • Manage a small, complex caseload as required, providing direct support to clients and modelling best practice in family-centred, trauma-informed care.

What You will Receive:

  • Attractive remuneration package (negotiable based on your skills and experience) from $118,778 to $137,698 (HP3 classification), plus 12% superannuation and a range of benefits.
  • Salary packaging opportunities.
  • Six weeks annual leave plus 18% leave loading.
  • A meaningful, purpose-driven role improving cancer outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
  • Regular remote travel with a Katherine home base.
  • A supportive, multidisciplinary team environment that values collaboration, learning and growth.
  • Ongoing professional development, training and capacity-building opportunities.
  • The chance to build lasting relationships and cultural connection that will shape your career and perspective.

Applications close: 29 October 2026, limited tenure position until 30 June 2028. This is an amazing opportunity to utilise your skills and passion to make a genuine difference to some of the most remote communities in Australia.
