Perform echocardiograms (and stress echos) across Melbourne, on the days and at the clinics that suit you. Heartscope, part of Scope Healthcare, is one of Melbourne's largest cardiac diagnostic providers, with over 15 locations across the metropolitan area. As we expand further in Melbourne, we're now looking for Cardiac Sonographers at all levels to join our team, full time, part time or casual.

Grades We're accepting applications for:

  • Cardiac Sonographer (Grade 2 and 3)
  • Senior Cardiac Sonographer (Grade 4)
  • Trainee cardiac sonographers are also welcome to apply (remuneration for trainees is different from the advertised range).

Grades refer to the Victorian public sector scale for sonographers.

What You Will Do

  • Perform transthoracic echocardiograms across a varied caseload, with established patient demand.
  • Carry out exercise stress echocardiograms on the treadmill, with a cardiologist supervising each test.
  • Assess a broad range of cardiac pathology, including valvular heart disease, LV systolic and diastolic function, cardiomyopathies, structural heart abnormalities and other complex pathology.
  • Write up your measurements and findings for the reporting cardiologist, raising anything urgent or unexpected with them straight away.
  • Work directly alongside experienced cardiologists who are on site, accessible, and rely on the quality of your studies.
  • Supervise and teach our trainees if you're a senior sonographer, or scan under supervision while completing your course if you're currently training.

Requirements

  • You're thorough with every study, look after your patients, and work well with the cardiologists and staff around you.
  • ASAR registration, as an Accredited Medical Sonographer or, if you're still training, as an Accredited Student Sonographer in a cardiac course.
  • If you're qualified, experience performing echocardiograms independently and confidence identifying and assessing cardiac pathology.
  • Stress echocardiography and advanced echo experience will be highly regarded.

Benefits

  • Earn $120,000 to $180,000, depending on your grade, experience and the hours you're available.
  • Choose full-time, part-time or casual work, on your preferred days and at your preferred clinics.
  • Pick up extended-hour sessions at selected locations, if they suit you.
  • Build advanced cardiac imaging skills, with CPD support, in well-equipped clinics.
  • Access team member discounts and offers at a range of retailers, venues and services.
