At Schneider Electric, we're helping shape the next generation of data centres, powering the digital infrastructure that supports cloud, AI, and mission‑critical applications around the world. As demand for resilient, efficient, and sustainable data centre capacity accelerates, we're looking for an experienced electrical power systems specialist to help customers design and deploy world‑class infrastructure.

We're seeking a System Architect – Electrical to become our technical authority for data centre power distribution and UPS solutions across strategic accounts in the Pacific region. Working alongside Key Account Managers, Solution Architects, consultants, and end users, you'll influence critical design decisions, shape technical standards, and position Schneider Electric's solutions at the earliest stages of major data centre projects. This is a highly autonomous role for someone who combines deep technical expertise with a proactive, hunter mindset. You'll be comfortable engaging directly with consulting engineers, design firms, contractors, hyperscalers, and enterprise customers, building credibility through your technical knowledge and ability to solve complex electrical challenges.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and architect end-to-end electrical infrastructure solutions for data centres, from utility intake through to rack‑level power distribution.
  • Develop power architectures incorporating MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, power monitoring, and redundancy schemes.
  • Advise customers on electrical system design, resiliency strategies, and best practice data centre architectures.
  • Influence specifications and standards with consultants, engineering firms, EPCs, and end users.
  • Lead technical discussions and defend design decisions at an engineer‑to‑engineer level.
  • Partner with account teams to identify, shape, and win strategic data centre projects.
  • Deliver technical workshops, design reviews, and solution presentations to customers and consulting partners.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, digital, and solution architecture teams to create integrated data centre solutions.

About You

You are an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys combining technical excellence with customer engagement. You can confidently walk into a consulting engineer's office, challenge assumptions, influence design decisions, and position innovative solutions that create value for customers. You'll bring:

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8-14 years of experience in electrical engineering, solution architecture, commissioning, consulting, or presales environments with at least 5 years' experience within data centre environments.
  • Strong expertise in MV/LV power distribution systems and electrical infrastructure design.
  • Deep knowledge of UPS technologies, redundancy architectures, and critical power systems.
  • Experience developing single line diagrams, load calculations, equipment specifications, and electrical designs.
  • Strong understanding of data centre electrical standards, codes, and compliance requirements.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience working with hyperscalers, colocation providers, or large enterprise data centre operators.
  • Exposure to AI‑ready data centre infrastructure and high‑density compute environments.
  • Uptime Institute Tier certifications or equivalent industry accreditations.
  • Professional Engineer registration or equivalent.
  • Experience working with consulting engineering firms or design institutes.
  • Knowledge of DCIM, BMS integration, power monitoring, and industrial communication protocols.

Why Schneider Electric?

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in some of the most significant data centre projects across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific region. You'll work alongside industry‑leading experts, engage directly with some of the world's largest technology customers, and help define the electrical infrastructure powering the future of AI, cloud, and digital transformation. If you're a technically strong electrical engineer who thrives on influencing customers, shaping designs, and winning strategic opportunities, we'd love to hear from you.

All applicants must have working rights in Australia at the time of application and will be required to provide documented evidence if selected for interview.
