Fulton Hogan is recruiting a Contract Administrator for a road infrastructure project in the Rockhampton region of Queensland, which it is delivering with ACCIONA.

The posting gives the location as Pink Lily, and the post is full time.

The administrator takes ownership of a portfolio of subcontract packages from award to close-out, with support and mentoring from the project's commercial team.

That covers correspondence, notices, registers and compliance, and the assessment of progress claims with payment schedules issued under the BIF Act (Qld).

The role values variations, assesses delay and extension of time claims, and negotiates commercial outcomes with subcontractors.

It also runs subcontract procurement from start to finish: scope review, tender analysis, commercial and contractual assessment, negotiation of departures from the contract terms and the recommendation for award.

The administrator checks that the scope, the schedule of rates and the head contract match what is being built on site, working with engineers, supervisors and the project team.

Applicants need intermediate experience in contracts or commercial administration, ideally with a principal contractor on roads, bridges or civil infrastructure, and a working knowledge of construction contracts, variations, extensions of time and security of payment.

The posting asks for the confidence to negotiate with subcontractors and the judgement to know when to escape, good organisation, and strong Excel with commercial or ERP systems.

Qualifications in quantity surveying, engineering, construction management or law are an advantage. No salary figure or closing date is published.

The details above are taken from the employer's own posting, read on 21-10-2026.
