  • Installing, maintaining and repairing hydraulic systems and equipment, and installing, testing and commissioning new equipment or system upgrades during capital works or facility modifications.
  • Ensuring all plumbing installation, repair and commissioning work is carried out in accordance with AS/NZS 3500 (Plumbing and Drainage) and relevant state regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records, inspection logs and up-to-date hydraulic drawings.
  • Liaising and coordinating with Facilities Managers and other maintenance trades to schedule work and minimise disruption to residents.
  • Participating in a 7-day on-call roster, responding promptly to emergency breakdowns and urgent repairs outside normal working hours.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve water efficiency and recommending upgrades, repairs or fixture replacements where appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • A current, government-issued Plumbing, Drainage and Gas Fitting Licence (specific requirements vary by state/territory).
  • A current Construction Induction Card (White Card) for construction sites.
  • Experience providing plumbing services, and using and maintaining power tools and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic theory, water distribution and waste systems.

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work unsupervised and follow directions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across teams.
  • Additional certifications for high-risk work, working at heights, or confined spaces are advantageous.
  • A current First Aid Certificate and valid driver's licence.
