Sauls Bearings and Engineering - Burleigh Heads QLD
A CNC LATHE AND MILL OPERATOR role at Saul's Bearings, Engineering & Machine Shop, where you will be machining by interpreting work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, specifications and machining parameters as required.
Key responsibilities
- Program and set up mills and lathes; setting tool registers, offsets, etc and calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
- Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations
- Detect malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls as required
- Sharpen and replace worn tools; adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes
- Maintain safe operations and equipment by adhering to safety procedures, regulations and following manufacturer's specifications
- Perform fault finding, diagnosis, design, assembly and manufacture on site as/when required
- Participate in general laboring tasks
- Abide by all WHS and environmental policies
- Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials
- Assist and support other staff as directed by management
About you
- Highly proficient with Mastercam software and CNC Fanuc controllers, allowing you to set up and execute jobs with minimal supervision
- Able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- Strong fitting knowledge
- Own tools
- Valid White Card
- Able to jump on a manual machine or handle welding when a job demands it
- Proactive, reliable, physically fit, and self-motivated
