As a GP Anaesthetist, you will provide safe, high-quality anaesthetic and perioperative care across a broad range of surgical specialties.
You will work closely with surgeons, physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to deliver patient-centred care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide anaesthetic and perioperative services across elective and emergency procedures
- Conduct pre-anaesthetic assessments and post-operative reviews
- Deliver safe anaesthetic care with continuous patient monitoring
- Participate in a 24/7 emergency anaesthetic roster
- Support emergency surgery and critical care responses
- Provide procedural expertise including airway management and vascular access
- Participate in Medical Emergency Team (MET) and Code Blue responses
- Supervise anaesthetic trainees and junior staff where appropriate
- Support recovery room and day surgery services
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement, education, and service development initiatives

Requirements Applicants Must Possess
- Medical qualifications registrable with AHPRA
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM)
- Accreditation through the Joint Consultative Committee on Anaesthesia (JCCA)
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
- Demonstrated experience in anaesthesia and critical care medicine
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development
Final-year GP Registrars with suitable anaesthetic training and experience may also be considered.
