Barista in Perth

Sage Monroe cafe is seeking a passionate and skilled Barista to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Mount Hawthorn, WA 6016, this role is perfect for someone who loves crafting quality coffee and creating memorable experiences for our customers. As a Barista, you will be the face of our cafe, responsible for preparing exceptional beverages and providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced, welcoming environment. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in a vibrant hospitality setting where your expertise and enthusiasm will directly contribute to our cafe's success.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and serving high-quality espresso-based and specialty coffee beverages to customer specifications
• Operating and maintaining espresso machines, grinders and other coffee equipment to the highest standards
• Taking customer orders efficiently and accurately, providing recommendations where appropriate
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace, including the espresso bar and equipment
• Building positive relationships with regular customers and creating a welcoming atmosphere
• Processing payments accurately using point-of-sale systems
• Restocking supplies and monitoring inventory levels of coffee beans, milk and other beverages
• Assisting with other cafe duties as required, including food preparation and general hospitality tasks
• Adhering to health and safety standards and cafe policies at all times

What we're looking for

• Proven barista experience or relevant qualifications in coffee preparation
• Strong knowledge of espresso-based drinks and specialty coffee techniques
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment whilst maintaining quality standards
• Attention to detail and commitment to food safety and hygiene
• Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to casual work arrangements
• Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
• Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions and till operations
• A genuine passion for coffee and hospitality is highly desirable
