Deliver TAE40122 online. Shape how the next generation of Australian trainers actually teach. Sage Education Australia (RTO 5989) is launching TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as a fully online, fee-for-service qualification with rolling intakes and weekly live webinars. We're looking for a trainer who can do more than tick boxes β€” someone who understands that our students aren't here for a certificate, they're here to walk into a classroom (or a workplace) and deliver.

About Sage Education Australia: Queensland-based RTO (RTO 5989) delivering nationally recognised qualifications across community services, aged care, disability, ECEC, mental health and now training and assessment. Five campuses plus online delivery, with a strong compliance and continuous-improvement culture. TAE40122 is a brand-new offering for us β€” you're joining at the ground floor, with a complete, validated learning and assessment package handed to you on day one.

The role:

  • Deliver weekly live webinars for TAE40122 students on a topic-based rolling calendar (not cohort-locked).
  • Mark and provide feedback on assessments across the 12-unit TAE40122 pack (6 core + 6 Group A electives).
  • Fully internalise our learning resources and assessment tools so your training directly maps to what students need to demonstrate β€” and, more importantly, to what they'll need to do in practice once qualified.
  • Design your webinar content so students leave not just able to complete the assessment, but able to actually train and assess in their own workplace afterwards (post-completion capability is the KPI, not completion rates).
  • Respond to student queries within agreed turnaround times via our LMS and support channels.
  • Contribute to validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
  • As the cohort grows: help us interview, onboard and mentor additional TAE trainers.

Essential requirements (Standards for RTOs 2025):

  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus a higher-level TAE credential β€” TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or TAE50222 Diploma of Training Design and Development (or demonstrated equivalence accepted by ASQA for delivering TAE qualifications).
  • Current industry skills directly relevant to vocational training and assessment, with evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Demonstrated practical delivery experience of TAE40122 (or TAE40116 with current TAE40122 upgrade and active delivery) β€” this is a must, not a nice-to-have.
  • Experience assessing competency-based assessment tools against unit requirements and the Principles of Assessment / Rules of Evidence.
  • Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain) and right to work in Australia.

You’ll also need to be:

  • Technologically fluent β€” comfortable with LMS platforms (we use aXcelerate, moving to Moodle), video conferencing, screen recording, and picking up new tools without hand-holding.
  • A strong problem-solver who can troubleshoot a student's blocker, a tech issue, or an assessment ambiguity without waiting to be told what to do.
  • Clear, structured and engaging on camera β€” our webinars are live and our students are adult learners who notice the difference.
  • Reliable with turnaround times and documentation (we run on evidence, not promises).

Highly regarded:

  • Prior experience mentoring or supervising other VET trainers.
  • Experience delivering TAE under the TAESS00028 Work Skill Instructor Skillset supervision model.
  • Background training across multiple industries (construction, hospitality, business, aged care, ECEC, community services, retail, allied health etc.) β€” our student base is diverse and our worked examples reflect that.

What's on offer:

  • Casual engagement to start, with a clear pathway to Permanent Part Time or Full Time as the TAE40122 cohort scales.
  • A fully built, validated learning and assessment package β€” you focus on delivery, not scrambling to write resources.
  • Direct access to a Head of Compliance and Strategic Projects, a dedicated project manager, and a CEO who makes decisions quickly.
  • Opportunity to help shape the growth of a new qualification stream and build the team around it.

Sage Education Australia is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and people with disability.
