About the business

We run a diversified group of 35+ staff across several service and retail businesses, including traffic control, hand car wash, rim repairs, interstate tyre shops, commercial vehicle rental, graffiti removal and roof cleaning, and a fashion wear store selling into the US market. The owner is looking for a senior operator to take the day-to-day running of the business off his hands and help build a more scalable, streamlined organisation.

The role

You’ll oversee operations across all of the group’s businesses, making sure every area runs smoothly. You’ll work directly with the owner on business affairs, take ownership of processes, and free up the owner’s time so the business can grow. This is a role for someone who wants to build systems, not just maintain them.

What we’re looking for

  • At least five years’ experience in an operations, COO, general manager or head of operations role in a small to medium business
  • Experience managing teams, budgets, P&L and day-to-day business operations
  • A proactive, efficient mindset with a clear vision for growth
  • Strong initiative and a bias for action, with the ability to work quickly on priorities
  • Experience improving existing processes and implementing new systems
  • Versatility: industry background isn’t essential, but cross-sector experience is a plus
  • Ability to travel to sites on occasion as well as interstate/internationally with business owner/alone occasionally.

Nice to have

  • Experience with traffic management systems
  • Familiarity with standard business software and platforms

What makes you stand out

Experience, attitude and initiative matter most to us. If you’re someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and wants to make a real impact, we’d like to hear from you.
