SafeAssure is partnering with an established builder on a major high rise project on the Gold Coast. The site is busy and the work is high risk, and the project has 2+ years of work ahead. They already have a Safety Manager running the system. Now they need someone out on the floors every day, keeping safety moving with the crews.
About the role:
- This is a hands-on site role: 80% on site and 20% systems and documentation.
- You’ll report to the Safety Manager and run your own day. That means spotting issues, fixing them on the spot and escalating the big ones.
Key functions of the role:
- Daily site walks, inspections, audits and task observations
- Permit to work checks, working at heights and harness compliance
- Monitoring high risk activities, including formwork and jump form, screens, scaffold, cranes and hoists
- Checking SWMS and controls against the work actually being done
- Site inductions, pre-starts and toolbox talks
- Working with trades, supervisors and subcontractors across multiple disciplines
- Stopping unsafe work, correcting behaviour, and escalating significant issues to the Safety Manager
- Supporting incident response and some systems and reporting work
About you:
- Around 5 years of WHS experience in construction, ideally commercial or high rise
- Practical knowledge of high-risk construction activities on a live multi-storey site
- Cert IV in WHS (minimum) and a White Card; a Diploma of WHS is a bonus
- Confident enough to hold your ground professionally on a demanding site and good at building rapport with the trades
- Comfortable working independently without needing someone to check every call
- High risk work licences, working at heights, scaffold or rigging knowledge, ICAM and First Aid are all highly regarded
On offer:
- Long term Gold Coast project with 2+ years of work
- A real site role, not a desk job
- An established Safety Manager to work with and learn the system from
- Immediate start
