At Mars Pet Nutrition, we're united by our purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS™. Behind every innovation, every product, and every contribution to pets and pet parents is a team of Associates who are informed, inspired and connected to what matters most. We're looking for an exceptional Senior Manager, Internal Communication to help shape the future of our business. Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Director and partnering closely with our General Manager and leadership team, you'll lead the internal communication strategy that brings our purpose, priorities and pet parent transformation journey to life for our Associates across our ANZ business.

This is far more than a communications role. You'll be a trusted advisor to our General Manager and senior leaders, helping them engage teams through growth, change and transformation. You'll craft compelling leadership narratives, drive culture and engagement initiatives, and ensure our Associates understand not just what we're doing, but why it matters to pets and pet parents. You'll connect Associates across our manufacturing sites in Wodonga (Vic), Bathurst (NSW) and Wacol (QLD), our Melbourne and Auckland offices and our remote Field Sales teams, creating moments that build understanding, pride and belonging. From leadership forums and town halls to major business transformation programs, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the Associate experience and strengthening our high-performance culture.

This role also leads our community partnerships and purpose activation agenda, inspiring Associates to make a positive impact beyond our business and helping bring our purpose of A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS™ to life in the communities where we operate.

If you're a strategic communicator who thrives on influencing senior leaders, leading through change, and creating meaningful connections between people, culture and business performance, we'd love to hear from you.

What will you do?

  • Elevate our Associate Communications: Shape and deliver an integrated strategic internal communications program that keeps Associates informed, inspired and connected to our purpose, priorities and growth ambitions.
  • Partner with Senior Leaders: Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and Leadership Team, providing strategic counsel on leadership communication, organisational change, culture, engagement and reputation.
  • Lead Through Change: Drive communications for key business transformation initiatives, helping leaders navigate change and ensuring Associates feel informed, involved and supported throughout the journey.
  • Bring Our Purpose to Life: Lead our community partnerships and purpose activation agenda, creating meaningful opportunities for Associates to contribute to their communities and make a positive impact beyond the workplace.
  • Build Connection Across Our Business: Create engaging communication experiences that connect Associates across our manufacturing sites, Support Office and Field Sales teams, fostering a strong sense of belonging and shared direction.
  • Innovate for impact: Leveraging traditional and digital platforms, continuously evolve our communication channels, campaigns and measurement approach to increase engagement, strengthen culture and deliver meaningful business outcomes.

What are we looking for?

  • A seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience in senior corporate communication roles, preferably within a large, global organization.
  • A degree in communications, marketing, or a related business discipline.
  • A proven track record of developing and leading organisation-wide internal and change communication strategies.
  • Exceptional ability to influence and provide strategic advice to senior executives and business partner effectively.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask, work under pressure, and manage deadlines and budgets effectively.
  • A creative and innovative thinker with a deep passion for employee engagement and best-practice communications.
  • A purpose-led leader, with experience in implementing Corporate Social Responsibility programs and partnering with charity and community groups for mutual value and impact.

Why you’ll love working for Mars:

  • Purpose: Help craft beloved brands with a legacy of over 100 years of local manufacturing making products that people and pets will love all while helping to build a more sustainable future.
  • People: A culture that values your contributions, fosters leadership, and recognises the impact you make. Your work truly matters here.
