Rogers Construction Group - Wollongong NSW

Site Supervisor, Minor Works | Wollongong and Illawarra | Permanent Full Time

Not every supervisor wants to spend a year on one site. If you'd rather run several jobs a day, solve problems on the run and see work finished week after week, this role is for you.

About Rogers Construction Group

Rogers Construction Group (RCG) is a privately owned Sydney-based commercial construction company delivering projects across NSW and Victoria, with offices in Bella Vista, Wollongong and and recently expanded into Melbourne and Adelaide.

We specialise in Education, Aged Care & Retirement Living, Social and Government Housing, Government, Industrial, Corporate and Retail projects up to $20m. Our business is experiencing significant, controlled growth, built on strong client relationships and a reputation for delivering quality outcomes.

The role

You’ll be the face of RCG on site across the Wollongong region. You’ll run multiple Minor Works jobs each day and work closely with our Project Managers, to keep every job on program, finished to a high standard and leaving clients and residents happy.

Much of our work happens in live, occupied environments such as aged care facilities, schools and healthcare sites, so the job is as much about people as it is about building.

The role is generally Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work when a job requires it.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supervising multiple Minor Works jobs a day across the Wollongong region

  • Coordinating trades, subcontractors and deliveries, working from drawings, scopes and specifications

  • Keeping jobs on program and flagging delays or risks to the PM early

  • Inspecting work as it progresses and at completion, closing out defects and preparing sites for handover

  • Being the day-to-day contact for clients, facility managers and school staff

  • Liaising respectfully with residents, families and students, and planning noise, access and disruption around each facility

  • Running safe sites through inductions, SWMS reviews, toolbox talks and signage

  • Following site-specific requirements such as infection control, working with children protocols and resident safety

  • Posting daily updates in our job management system and keeping site diaries current

  • Getting on the tools for small jobs when needed to keep things moving

About you

You stay calm when priorities change mid-morning and you know how to talk to a tradie, a facility manager and an elderly resident in the same hour. You take ownership of your jobs, follow the process and want to grow with a business that will invest in you.

  • Trade background (carpentry or similar) with experience supervising commercial or refurbishment works

  • Comfortable juggling several small jobs a day

  • Strong communication skills and a calm, professional manner in sensitive environments

  • A sharp eye for quality and finish

  • Confident using a phone or tablet for reporting and photos

  • Current NSW White Card and full driver's licence

  • Able to obtain a NSW Working With Children Check and National Police Check

Great to have, but not deal breakers:

  • Experience in aged care, healthcare or education facilities

  • First aid certificate

  • Living in or near the Illawarra

What we offer

We've built a great team culture and we work hard to keep it that way.

  • Quarterly team events and business updates

  • Annual team Harbour cruise

  • Uniform provided

  • Laptop or tablet provided

  • Vehicle or car allowance

  • Real opportunities to grow as the business grows

Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience. Please include your salary expectations in your application.
