Fruit Retail Assistant in Brisbane

Rock N Roll Marketplace is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Fruit Retail Assistant to join our team in Greenslopes, Queensland. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining our retail operations. As a Fruit Retail Assistant, you will be at the heart of our business, ensuring our customers enjoy a seamless shopping experience whilst helping us maintain the high standards our brand is known for. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced retail environment where your contributions directly impact customer satisfaction and store success.

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting customers with product selection, providing knowledgeable recommendations about fresh fruit and produce.
• Maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring displays are visually appealing and well-organised.
• Processing customer transactions at the point of sale with accuracy and efficiency.
• Receiving and unpacking deliveries, checking quality and condition of stock upon arrival.
• Rotating stock appropriately to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
• Keeping the sales floor, stockroom and customer areas clean, safe and hygienic at all times.
• Providing prompt and courteous service to all customers, addressing queries and concerns professionally.
• Supporting team members during peak trading periods and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
• Following health, safety and food handling procedures in accordance with company policy and relevant legislation.

What we're looking for:

• Previous 5 years retail experience, ideally within a grocery or produce retail environment.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with diverse customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items of varying weights, and work in a retail environment.
• Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays as required.
• A genuine passion for fresh produce and interest in helping customers make informed choices.
• Basic numeracy skills and the ability to operate a point-of-sale system.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, or willingness to obtain relevant certifications.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
