Reporting directly to the business owners, you will apply engineering knowledge to system design, product evaluation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting. You will develop technical solutions, evaluate products and support the integration and operation of electronic security and ELV systems.
Key responsibilities
Analyse customer and project requirements and develop suitable electronic security and ELV system designs.
Prepare technical specifications, system schematics, equipment schedules and bills of materials.
Evaluate and recommend CCTV, video intercom, access control, wireless alarm, IP networking and transmission products.
Assess equipment, firmware and new technologies for performance, compatibility and suitability.
Configure and test equipment and integrated systems, investigate faults and recommend corrective actions.
Provide technical support to customers, installers and internal staff.
Liaise with manufacturers to resolve technical issues and assess product and firmware updates.
Deliver technical training, product demonstrations and system configuration guidance.
Maintain technical documentation, test records, configuration guides and support procedures.
Ensure proposed solutions meet applicable technical standards, manufacturer requirements and project specifications.
About you
A bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in electronic security or ELV system design, product evaluation, integration or technical support.
Practical knowledge of CCTV, video intercom, access control, wireless alarms and IP networking/transmission technologies.
Ability to interpret technical requirements and prepare system designs, schematics and equipment specifications.
Strong equipment configuration, testing, troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills.
Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and deliver training.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple technical enquiries and project requirements.
