Operations Supervisor – National Distribution Centre

Operations Supervisor – National Distribution Centre

Location: Beverley, Adelaide SA
Employment: Full-time
Salary Package: $89,600 per annum

Are you an experienced warehouse or distribution professional ready to take the next step in your leadership career?

Right Connect is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join a well-established National Distribution Centre in Beverley. This is an exciting opportunity for a capable, hands‑on leader who enjoys coordinating people, driving operational performance and ensuring the smooth running of a busy distribution environment.

Working closely with the NDC Manager, you will initially take ownership of the daily Despatch operation while progressively expanding your responsibilities across the broader distribution centre, including Receiving, Inbound operations and Stock Control.

This position offers more than day-to-day supervision. It provides a genuine opportunity to broaden your operational experience and develop towards future senior management responsibilities.

The Opportunity

As Operations Supervisor, you will be the visible operational lead across the NDC, ensuring daily priorities are delivered safely, accurately and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supervising the Despatch function and coordinating daily workflow.
  • Managing bulk stock and branch resupply orders, ensuring accurate picking, checking, packing and dispatch.
  • Coordinating employees, allocating workloads and ensuring distribution deadlines are achieved.
  • Overseeing transport arrangements, dispatch documentation and carrier requirements.
  • Maintaining outbound order accuracy, quality and service standards.
  • Responding to branch enquiries and resolving operational issues.
  • Conducting toolbox discussions, operational reviews and addressing performance or quality concerns.
  • Coordinating labour, resources and operational priorities across warehouse functions.
  • Progressively taking on responsibility for Receiving and Inbound operations as the role develops.
  • Supporting stock control, inventory accuracy and broader warehouse processes.
  • Monitoring operational KPIs, productivity and service delivery.
  • Acting as the key operational contact in the absence of the NDC Manager.
  • Supporting continuous improvement, workplace safety and operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

We are interested in someone who combines practical warehouse knowledge with strong leadership and organisational skills.

You will ideally bring:

  • Previous experience supervising or leading a warehouse, distribution or logistics operation.
  • Experience using Pronto 750 or similar
  • Strong understanding of despatch, transport coordination and distribution processes.
  • Previous exposure to stock control, inventory management or receivals will be highly regarded.
  • The ability to coordinate teams, allocate workloads and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
  • Experience working with operational KPIs, performance targets and service delivery requirements.
  • Sound judgement and the confidence to make decisions within delegated authority.
  • Competency with transport provider systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Relevant forklift or stock‑picker licences where required for assigned duties.

This position offers a structured development pathway, working directly with the NDC Manager to progressively broaden your operational knowledge and leadership responsibilities.

While the initial focus will be on Despatch, the role will progressively incorporate Receiving, Inbound operations, Stock Control, Branch activities, workforce coordination and broader distribution centre management.

For an ambitious warehouse or distribution professional looking to move beyond frontline supervision and develop into a more senior operational leadership position, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

Why Apply?

  • Join an established national distribution operation.
  • Take ownership of an important operational function.
  • Work alongside an experienced NDC management team.
  • Broaden your experience across Despatch, Receiving and Stock Control.
  • Develop your leadership and broader operational management capability.
  • Build towards future senior management opportunities.
