Company Background
Our client is a well-established education provider with a strong reputation and a values-led culture. The organisation offers a collaborative working environment, where employees are encouraged to contribute, take ownership and work closely across teams.
The College is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer following a resignation. This is an immediate-start, six-month temporary assignment with a genuine view to permanency. Candidates seeking a permanent appointment from the outset will also be considered.
The Role
Reporting within an eight-person finance team, you will take ownership of the debtors ledger. Approximately 70% of the role is focused on collections and debt recovery, requiring confident, respectful conversations with parents and guardians about outstanding school fees. Responsibilities include:
- Proactively contacting parents and guardians regarding overdue school fees
- Resolving payment queries and negotiating suitable payment arrangements
- Owning and monitoring the debtors ledger and reporting collection progress
- Preparing school fee invoices, adjustments and account maintenance
- Allocating incoming payments and completing bank reconciliations
- Investigating discrepancies and driving a measurable reduction in overdue balances
Your Background
This is a collections-led position rather than a traditional transactional AR role. To succeed, you will bring:
- Demonstrated Accounts Receivable and collections experience
- Confidence managing sensitive or difficult fee conversations in a polite yet firm manner
- Strong ownership of a debtor book and a proactive debt-reduction mindset
- School or broader education-sector experience, which is highly regarded
- Experience with Synergetic and Power BI, which would be advantageous
- Availability to work five days on site in Ryde
Applicants available immediately or at short notice are preferred; permanent candidates are also encouraged to apply.
