About the Brand

We are proudly partnering with a growing, Queensland-owned retail business in the FMCG sector to recruit a Sustainability & ESG Reporting Manager.

Locally run, with operations across the state, the business is creating a dedicated role to take ownership of its sustainability and compliance reporting.

With its first AASB S2 reporting year completed, established reporting foundations and external specialist support in place, this is an opportunity to build internal capability and directly influence how the business manages its reporting obligations.

Job Overview

Based in North Lakes and reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll manage day-to-day sustainability reporting across the group.

Your immediate focus will be developing Scope 3 emissions reporting, improving established Scope 1 and 2 processes, and strengthening the data, workpapers and controls needed to support increasing assurance requirements.

This is a hands‑on position for someone who enjoys the technical detail of reporting and wants to take ownership within a business.

You’ll work across Finance, Operations and Procurement, with budgeted external sustainability advisory, audit and assurance support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and improve AASB S2 climate‑related disclosures and supporting documentation.
  • Develop Scope 3 data collection processes, methodologies and emissions calculations.
  • Maintain and strengthen Scope 1 and 2 reporting across electricity, fuel and refrigerant emissions.
  • Investigate data gaps, improve estimates and assumptions, and establish consistent reporting controls.
  • Prepare audit‑ready workpapers and coordinate enquiries with external advisers and assurance providers.
  • Support packaging compliance, APCO, recycling and environmental reporting obligations.
  • Contribute to climate risk assessments, monitor established targets and prepare management and Board reporting.

Qualifications

  • Practical experience in sustainability, ESG, carbon accounting or environmental reporting.
  • Experience preparing greenhouse gas inventories, with Scope 3 experience highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of AASB S2, IFRS S2 or TCFD and the ability to apply reporting requirements.
  • Strong Excel, analytical and data management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience preparing supporting evidence for audit or sustainability assurance.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate information across departments and suppliers.
  • Relevant qualifications in sustainability, environmental science, accounting or a related discipline.
  • Packaging compliance, APCO, Power BI or multi‑site retail/FMCG experience would be advantageous.

What’s on Offer

  • Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
  • Newly created, full-time position based in North Lakes.
  • Direct reporting to the Finance Director and ownership of day‑to‑day sustainability reporting.
  • Budgeted external sustainability advisory, audit and assurance support.
  • Established foundations with substantial Scope 3 development and process improvement work to lead.
  • Opportunity to become the internal reporting specialist within a growing, locally run business.
