SQL Developer

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced SQL Developer with deep expertise in complex SQL query design and optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL, including PL/SQL or other RDBMS systems, and some exposure to Python (Pandas) for data transformation and automation.
This role focuses exclusively on Google BigQuery SQL development for advanced analytics and data transformations. Experience with Google Cloud is a plus but not mandatory. The successful candidate should be a self-starter who is willing to learn and develop their skills across Google Cloud technologies while delivering SQL solutions independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries and views in Google BigQuery for large-scale analytical workloads.
- Implement advanced transformations and aggregations using BigQuery capabilities, including window functions, CTEs, and partitioning.
- Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into efficient BigQuery solutions.
- Use Python (Pandas) for data wrangling and automation scripts where required.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize BigQuery query execution plans.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- 12+ years of hands-on SQL development experience. Experience with PL/SQL or other RDBMS platforms is acceptable.
- Strong expertise in Google BigQuery or similar cloud-based data warehouses is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work independently, engage with onshore stakeholders, and deliver SQL solutions.
- Proven ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries for large datasets.
- Basic experience with Python, particularly Pandas for data manipulation.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning in BigQuery.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipeline concepts.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
