Recruitmark is partnered with a specialist modular infrastructure provider delivering data centres and other mission‑critical facilities for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise clients. Through its integrated Design, Engineer, Supply (DES) model, the business bridges the gap between engineering design and material delivery, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and on budget. Supporting some of the region’s most complex digital infrastructure projects, the company is recognised for its innovative, high-performance modular solutions.

About the Role:

The Electrical Design Lead plays a pivotal role in leading the electrical design, modular data centre products and projects, including power distribution, backup power, and protection systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety. • Design Assurance & Compliance – Review and approve electrical designs, calculations and specifications, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, NCC, utility and client requirements, as well as coordinating design verification, testing and commissioning.
  • Project Delivery & Resource Management – Manage electrical design resources and deliverables across multiple projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and support estimating, tendering, cost optimisation and manufacturability.
  • Safety & Continuous Improvement – Embed safety‑in‑design principles across fabrication, installation and operations, ensure legislative and industry compliance, and support audits, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Team Leadership & Development – Build and lead a high‑performing electrical design team, fostering accountability, safety and performance while supporting staff development, training and succession planning.
  • Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement – Report design progress, risks and performance to the Head of Engineering and collaborate with internal teams, clients, certifiers, utilities and suppliers to ensure integrated project delivery.

About You:

  • A combination of relevant qualification and demonstrated industry experience will also be considered.
  • Proven experience in a senior electrical design role within data centres, critical infrastructure, construction, or prefabrication.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design and standards (e.g. AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 3008), the NCC, WHS, and QA requirements.
