Insurance Restoration Technician in Melbourne

Insurance Restoration Technician in Melbourne

Melbourne Full-Time On-site
R

We’re not just hiring for skills, we’re looking for personality and dedication. If you’re a hands‑on problem solver who takes pride in restoring and repairing, this one’s for you.

About us

At Reconstruct™ we don’t just build structures, we rebuild lives. We specialise in high quality insurance repair projects, managing residential and commercial works for homes and businesses hit by fire, flood, storm and mould.

Our Victorian restoration team is busy and growing, so we’re adding another experienced technician to the crew. You’ll be joining an established team with the systems, gear and support already in place.

About the role

As a Restoration Technician you’ll be one of the first people on site after things go wrong. Burst pipes, storm damage, flooding, fire and mould: you’ll assess the damage, make it safe and carry out the remediation, all while keeping customers informed and reassured during a stressful time.

Melbourne weather keeps things interesting (four seasons in one day is real), so no two weeks look the same.

What you’ll do

  • Respond to emergency call outs and assess fire, water, storm and mould damage
  • Carry out site assessments and prepare detailed, accurate reports with photos and moisture readings
  • Deliver restoration works like water extraction, drying, dehumidification, mould remediation and contents handling
  • Attend make safes and carry out light repairs to protect the property
  • Operate and monitor restoration equipment safely, following our WHS procedures
  • Keep project managers and customers updated from first visit to sign off
  • Jump on the after hours roster for make safes and scheduled weekend work, paid accordingly

About you

  • 2+ years as a Restoration Technician or in a similar hands on trade role
  • Solid knowledge of water, escape of liquids, fire, smoke and mould remediation
  • You stay calm under pressure and sort problems out on the fly
  • You’re good with people and can explain things clearly to stressed customers
  • A good level of physical fitness
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and job updates

You’ll need

  • Valid driver’s licence
  • White Card (General Construction Induction)
  • National police check
  • Victorian Working with Children Check, or happy to apply
  • Full Australian working rights

Nice to have: IICRC certification (WRT, ASD, AMRT) or equivalent. Don’t have it yet? We’ll help you get there.

Why join us

  • Competitive salary package that reflects your skills and experience
  • Company vehicle and fuel card, plus a laptop, phone and tablet so you’ve got what you need
  • Paid after hours and weekend work, on a fair roster so you’re not on call 24/7
  • Training and IICRC support to keep building your skills
  • Room to grow into senior and supervisor roles as the team keeps growing
  • A supportive team that works hard and still has a laugh, with regular team catch ups and events
  • Work that matters, helping people get their homes and lives back on track
