About the Role
Join a key Federal Government department as a critical back-of-house contributor. As a Production Support Officer (APS 2), you will help deliver a secure, responsive, and efficient public service by ensuring physical applications and sensitive supporting records enter digital workflows accurately, securely, and without delay.
Beyond standard document handling, this role plays an essential part in safeguarding records integrity and identity security. You will work across a variety of back-of-house stations, handling high-volume imaging, exception management, and accountable document workflows in a structured, quality-driven operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, batch, and scan official application forms, supporting identity documents, and applicant photographs.
Assess photographs for technical suitability, cleanliness, and compliance with strict identification standards.
Triage and manage workflow exceptions, including separating routine from priority processing streams and troubleshooting non-scannable files.
Execute basic network production tasks, including data verification, image enhancement, pre-print quality assurance, and authorisation checks.
Handle accountable physical records securely through accurate indexing, tracking, filing, archiving, and authorized destruction protocols.
Perform ad-hoc administrative and operational duties, including internal mail sorting, batch tracking, and physical handling of document crates.
Candidate Requirements & Key Capabilities
Australian Citizenship is required; must meet pre-employment screening standards and hold (or be able to obtain and maintain) an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
Proven capacity to maintain high thoroughness, accuracy, and compliance with standard operating procedures in a high-volume processing environment.
Willingness to be trained across multiple operational stations and adjust rapidly between tasks (sorting, scanning, validation, exceptions) to meet shifting operational demands.
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and composure when executing repetitive, deadline-driven tasks under production targets.
Proven integrity in handling sensitive citizen records, personal identifying information, and accountable documents.
Working familiarity with standard IT tools, basic hardware/scanner operation, and enterprise computer systems.
Capacity to complete physical elements of the role, including sustained standing, walking, and manual handling of document crates/boxes.
