About the company
Our client is an award-winning, South Australian advanced manufacturer and engineering business delivering innovative technology to global sectors including Defence, Mining, and Oil & Gas. Based in Adelaide's inner-west, they operate in a highly collaborative "grey collar" environment where executive offices and manufacturing facilities share the same site.
About the role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Group Accountant will act as a central figure within the executive leadership team. Rather than managing a large corporate finance department, you will oversee one direct report—a dedicated bookkeeper—allowing you to stay actively engaged in the core operations of the business. This is an inherently hands-on position where you will drive group-wide financial sustainability and oversee human resources, stepping away from high-level delegation to truly immerse yourself in the day-to-day mechanics of the company.
About you
Demonstrated experience with the following duties will benefit your success:
- Hands-on financial management, reporting, and systems development.
- Managing HR systems, compliance, recruitment, and employee relations.
- Guiding an upcoming end-to-end ERP system transition.
- Managing tax incentives, government grants, and R&D funding.
- Reviewing business contracts, insurances, and managing risk.
- Collaborating with external accountants to advise on strategic growth.
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business, or a related discipline are essential, whilst CA/CPA qualifications are highly desirable. You will possess a fun, friendly character, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to be an active part of a close-knit team.
Why join
Offering a highly competitive salary package plus superannuation, this role is perfect for a proactive finance professional who thrives in the thick of the action. You will be joining a stable, tight-knit team with a predominantly office-based culture (Monday to Friday, 8am starts) that values collaboration, approachability, and hands-on leadership.
At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all. We actively encourage applications from any background.
