Our team is passionate about delivering memorable experiences that leave a lasting impact on attendees and support the initiatives we partner with.

About the role

We are seeking an Event Management Superstar to join Rally for a Cause on a part-time basis up to 20 hours per week. Based on the Sunshine Coast QLD, this role is central to our mission of creating exceptional events that resonate with audiences and achieve meaningful outcomes. As our Sunshine Coast Event Management Superstar, you will be responsible for bringing our annual award-winning Dunga Derby event vision to life, managing all aspects of delivery. This is a strategic position that requires creativity, meticulous planning, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, volunteers, sponsors, recipients and team members to deliver events that exceed expectations and create memories.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate the annual four-day event and associated events, including budgeting, timeline development, vendor management, and resource allocation.
  • Develop event concepts and strategies that align with organisational goals and resonate with target audiences.
  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering arrangements, equipment hire, and technical requirements.
  • Liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and vendors to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination to ensure smooth on-the-day operations.
  • Monitor event budgets and manage costs to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Assist with the implementation of marketing and promotional strategies to maximise event attendance and engagement.
  • Handle on-site event management, including troubleshooting issues and ensuring attendee satisfaction.
  • Evaluate event success through post-event analysis, feedback collection, and reporting on key metrics.
  • Maintain detailed event documentation and develop best practice processes for future events.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in event management, ideally within the not-for-profit, community, or marketing and communications sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to overcome challenges and deliver innovative event experiences.
  • Experience in event budgeting and financial management.
  • Proficiency with event management software and standard office applications.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and experience in promoting events to target audiences.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including potential weekend and evening hours as required by event schedules.
  • A passion for community engagement and creating positive social impact through events.
  • Relevant qualifications in event management, marketing, or communications are advantageous.
