Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Committees Officer to join the Office of Research Ethics and Integrity, Research Portfolio, Academic Division. Join QUT's Office of Research Ethics and Integrity (OREI) as a Committees Officer, supporting the day-to-day operations of the University's Human Research Ethics, Animal Ethics and Biosafety Committees. This diverse role provides high-quality secretarial and administrative support, including:

  • Coordinating meetings
  • Preparing agendas and minutes
  • Managing committee documentation
  • Developing briefings, reports and correspondence

Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, you will help ensure the smooth operation of committee activities that support ethical and responsible research across the University. Experience supporting university ethics, biosafety or similar committees would be highly regarded; however, we welcome applications from candidates with strong committee secretariat, governance or administrative support experience who can demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills. We are particularly interested in candidates who embrace innovation and are keen to explore opportunities to improve processes and administrative efficiency, including through the effective use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI). This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional with strong communication skills and experience in committee or administrative support roles.
